Schmidt SIGMA Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers offer highly efficient heat transfer rates, lower pressure drops for reduced energy consumption, compact floor space, longer run times due to reduced fouling, lower initial investment cost, and easier on-going maintenance. The unique corrugation pattern pressed onto each Schmidt thermal plate produces the highest overall heat transfer rate by assuring highly turbulent flow and excellent fluid distribution across the entire surface. It is not uncommon that a Plate Heat Exchanger will have the same thermal capacity as a Shell & Tube five times larger.
Schmidt SIGMA Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers are available in a wide range of sizes and plate designs to optimize thermal performance and pressure drop. Our patented adhesive-free SIGMAFIX gasket design allows quick and easy gasket replacement. Our SIGMACOAT gasket has a protective PTFE coating over an elastomer core for superior use with aggressive mediums at processing temperatures up to 320 °F (160 °C).
