Aphena Announces the Launch of Its New Third-Party Logistics Division

August, 2021 Company Plans to Begin Serving New 3PL Clients in 2022

COOKEVILLE, Tennessee — Aphena Pharma Solutions is proud to announce the launch of its new Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Division, which will be based at the company’s Cookeville, Tennessee, campus. Aphena plans to complete development of the new division by the end of 2021 and to begin serving new 3PL clients in 2022.

“This is a natural next step for Aphena, which has long been an industry-leading provider of pharmaceutical packaging and manufacturing services,” said Aphena CEO Shawn Reilley. “We are adept at managing the regulatory requirements that come with handling these types of products, and we already have compliant facilities and systems in place, making 3PL an obvious service offering to move into as we expand our offerings to better serve our clients.”

Aphena will offer its 3PL services at reasonable rates to the prescription pharmaceutical market, with a focus on the generic subsegment as well as the over-the-counter pharmaceutical market and the nutraceutical/homeopathic markets.

Aphena’s 3PL logistics services and capabilities will include:

• Full distribution services (receipt, storage and order fulfillment)

• Order-to-cash services (accounts receivable, invoicing, chargebacks and month-end close)

• Controlled room temperature (CRT) storage

• DEA schedule II (vault) and DEA schedule III-V storage

• Cold chain, 2-8º Celsius storage

• NABP DDA (VAWD) certification in progress

“While we anticipate being an attractive option for all manufacturers we might engage with, those who use Aphena’s packaging and manufacturing services will especially benefit from this new offering,” said Troy Blodgett, vice president and general manager of Aphena’s 3PL Division. “When you look at the transportation cost of having the products we’ve already manufactured and/or packaged simply moved across the hall or down the street instead of transferred to another city or state for distribution and order-to-cash services, you’re looking at significant savings, especially when you multiply that by several batches per year.”

Aphena Pharma Solutions is an industry-leading organization providing contract manufacturing, packaging, and now third-party logistics services, for the pharmaceutical, consumer health, biologics and medical device markets. With two separate FDA- and DEA-registered locations in the U.S., Aphena handles solid dose, liquids, gels, creams, ointments, foams, suspensions and lotion-based products.

Aphena meets and exceeds FDA standards for 21 CFR, Parts 111, 210, 211 and 820, and is DEA (CII-V) licensed; cGMP compliant, ISO 13485:2016 and 9001:2015 (BSI); UL Certified; and USP verified.
