In the first three quarters of 2017, the export sales of Chinese vaccines were 47.12 million USD with a slight increase of 6% over the same period of 2016.
The top 3 companies of Chinese vaccines exports were Chengdu Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd, Chengda Biotechnology Co., Ltd, and Shenzhen Mellow Hope Pharm Industrial Co., Ltd.
As indicated by the chart above, encephalitis B vaccines took the lead with export sales of 15 million USD. Rabies vaccines ranked second with export sales of 14.5 million USD followed by varicella vaccines, meningitis vaccines, and hepatitis A vaccines.
As indicated by the chart above, the vaccine export trend showed polarization of the main markets being South Asia and Southeast Asia. The top 3 countries were India, Thailand, and Myanmar, accounting for 57.6% of the market shares.
In addition to this, India topped the list but its sales slid down 43% compared with the same period in 2016, as a result of increased competition and unstable financial and political systems.
Most markets have seen increases with the exception of India. Market sales of vaccines rose 81% in Thailand and 105% in Bangladesh, making the surrounding countries the new markets for of vaccine exports.
