ScaleBlaster is an inexpensive and easy-to-install electronic device that solves hard water problems without salts, chemicals or any maintenance. UL-listed and validated by EPA-approved laboratories and major universities, ScaleBlaster eliminates ‘limescale’—mineral deposits that clog and corrode water pipes, water heaters, dish-washers, faucets, drains and showerheads, and that cause soap scum and staining of sinks, bathtubs, shower doors, and commodes. ScaleBlaster extends the life of water pipes and appliances, increases the efficiency of water heaters and dishwashers (lower-ing energy bills), makes it easy to clean and shine all surfaces that come in contact with water, reduces soap and detergent use by up to 25%, and gives a softer feel to skin, hair and clothing. Standard salt-using water softeners require ongoing maintenance. ScaleBlasterÔ operates automatically, 24/7, using less energy than a nightlight. Water softeners add unwanted sodium to water used for drinking, cooking and bathing, and take away healthy nutrients like calcium and magnesium. ScaleBlaster neither adds nor removes minerals. Salt-using water softeners discharge brines that can pollute the environment, and that are banned for this reason in parts of the U.S. ScaleBlaster is environmentally friendly. The device includes two main components: (1) a control unit containing a microprocessor that produces a very low-energy current that rapidly sweeps a wide range of select frequencies, and (2) signal cables that carry this current and that wrap around the outside wall of an incoming water pipe. This arrangement creates an agitating electromagnetic field that causes scale-forming minerals to come out of solution as soft, nonadhesive particles that flow harmlessly through the system—instead of attaching as tenaciously adhesive scale deposits. As a result, new scale does not form and existing deposits wear away, never to return.
