About NanoDrop products, now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop™ 1000 Spectrophotometer: The NanoDrop 1000 uses only 1ul of sample for highly accurate quantitation without the need for cuvettes and capillaries. The user simply pipettes a 1ul sample directly onto a fiber optic measurement surface where it is held in place by a patented retention system. During each measurement cycle, the full absorbance spectrum of the sample is assessed at two different path lengths (1.0mm and 0.2mm), resulting in a broad dynamic range (2ng/ul to 3700ng/ul for dsDNA). • The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop™ 8000 8-Sample Spectrophotometer: The NanoDrop 8000 allows investigators to perform full UV-Vis absorbance spectroscopy with eight 1ul samples simultaneously, greatly reducing the time required to measure 96-well plates of samples. As with the NanoDrop 1000, the NanoDrop 8000 uses the same retention system but arranged in a linear array of eight pedestals. • The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop™ 3300 Fluorospectrometer: Using the same sample retention system, the NanoDrop 3300 measures fluorescence emission spectra of 1ul samples. This allows for higher sensitivity while providing a wide range of excitation wavelengths (without filter changes) and full fluorescence spectrum analysis from 400nm to 750nm.
